Painting has always been an important, though sporadic, part of my life. Formal training began with youth classes at the Art Institute of Chicago and continued through college and through early adulthood as a signature member of the California Watercolor Society (formerly Eastbay Watercolor Society). While an active watercolor painter, I also developed a corporate art consulting business in the Bay Area. It wasn’t until my recent retirement from private practice as a Marriage and Family therapist that I am now able to return to this first love of art. At present my focus is almost exclusively on pastels as a primary medium, my “September” romance. However, I am happy to report that combinations of watercolor underpainting with pastel overlay provides infinite, exciting possibilities. I hope you enjoy these visual explorations.
